The BARNES City Index identifies the most sought-after cities for HNWI and UHNWI. Dubai tops the ranking for the first time.

New behaviours have intensified since 2020 and the widespread adoption of remote working. Wealthy families split between a primary or semi-primary residence and the simultaneous use of two or three complementary residences.
BARNES City Index 2024 — Full ranking
Dubai, which was in fifth position in the BARNES City Index in 2023, takes the top spot in 2024. A consecration for this ever-moving city, which has attracted talents and entrepreneurs from around the world for fifteen years. Among the safe bets, Miami, New York, Paris and London retain their Top 10 positions. More surprising is the comeback of European cities like Madrid, Lisbon and Rome.
