Thierry Morel, Managing Partner of BARNES Art & Design, unveils his cultural agenda for the coming months.
1. BILBAO — Guggenheim Museum
Known for being subversive and fascinating, artist Hilma Af Klint was also keenly aware of her societal context. When she embarked upon Paintings for the Temple in 1906, a project of 193 abstract works, she knew that the world was not ready. In fact, one of her final wishes were for these works not to be exhibited for 20 years. The world is now ready, and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is finally shedding light on her unique creative journey.

2. MILAN — Fondazione Prada
In her exhibition, For My Best Family, Meriem Bennani explores communal living through a multisensory installation and a film. Blending humour, realism and digital technology, the work draws on an animated installation of flip-flops to probe the question of collective rituals.

Asia NOW — Certain Perspective(s)
From 17 to 20 October, Asia NOW will be taking over every nook and cranny of the Hôtel de la Monnaie de Paris for its tenth edition, much to the delight of art lovers, curious minds and all those in search of multi-sensory experiences.
Launched in 2015, this unique event was first and foremost the result of an observation and a desire from its founder Alexandra Fain: "I have always been sensitive to the arts, but during my regular travels in Asia I discovered just how many pieces we were missing from the puzzle, and just how European-centric our approach sometimes was. And yet there was a whole generation of artists who were beginning to flourish around very universal and topical issues such as the environment and artificial intelligence."
For its tenth edition, Asia NOW has invited the curatorial cooperative Les Radicants under the artistic direction of Nicolas Bourriaud, who has chosen the theme of "ceremony" to pay a vibrant tribute to rituals both secular and religious. The power of ceremony will be showcased through a living, immersive experience, featuring live performances, videos, dances, music and culinary offerings.
