Don't ask her to give in to the temptation of name-dropping by listing her renowned clients. Virginie de Luca, co-founder and CEO, knows that Atelier d'Excellence's creations speak for themselves. It takes hard work and rigour, and the rest falls into place thanks to pieces discreetly featured in spaces from prestigious embassies and the Elysée Palace to five-star hotels, luxury boutiques and private homes.
KNOW-HOW: A SYMPHONY OF TALENTS In 2018, Virginie de Luca and her husband decided to acquire three companies, including Siegeair, a company with the French Living Heritage Company label, which made its name by working on the residence of President Georges Pompidou. In 2021, Atelier d'Excellence acquired Atelier Le Floch and Maison Fey to form a leather goods division featuring departments dedicated to sheathing, leather gilding, embossing, parchment and shagreening. Atelier d'Excellence is committed to preserving and passing on the know-how within its various trades, with no fewer than ten apprentices and Compagnons du Tour de France within its teams.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: A VIRTUOUS HOUSE "The company is also about embracing our social responsibility in terms of sustainability. This includes working on the lifespan of the furniture we create, and recycling the waste and leftover materials produced by our activity. We have introduced several processes to reduce our waste as much as possible. This kind of thinking is at the very core of craftsmanship — we haven't invented anything. This might be what luxury is all about; finding that perfect niche between excellence, discretion and ethics."
