"To those who know how to love well, nothing is impossible." This is a nod to the absolute, defiant vision of Corneille's Medea distilled in the creations of Fauré Le Page, a brand acquired some 15 years ago by a French family with a dual passion for art and history. We therefore find ourselves in Act II, as Fauré Le Page steps onto a new battlefield. But this is not hunting, nor war. It is love.
MAKING MISCHIEF The pillar of this project is the flagship store on Rue Cambon. It is here, on the floor just above the boutique, that Augustin de Buffévant and his design team dream up the House's future pieces. The common theme: the search for that witty charm, that quirky detail that raises a smile. Look no further than the card holder in the shape of a revolver for drawing... your business card. The timeless écailles motif will be printed using "flat-frame printing à la lyonnaise," a technique usually used for the finest materials such as silk.
IN PRAISE OF TAKING TIME "As long as it takes. We release a product when it's ready." This distinctly modern luxury is perfectly illustrated by the jacquard fabric, which took more than two years in partnership with an Italian embroidery workshop to reproduce the écailles — a non-rectilinear pattern requiring 21,000 stitches per cm². The result is a material totally resistant to the effects of time, wear and friction. At Fauré le Page, pieces are designed to withstand the passing years and transcend generations — and to achieve this, everything is meticulously tested in a dedicated laboratory.
