Millimètres — Haute Couture Yachting

With ateliers strategically based just outside La Ciotat's shipyard, Millimètres has quickly established itself as a leading name in the creation of bespoke furniture — and beyond. The company was created after Aurélien Masson and Maxime Niggel met while working together on another project. Through their mutual input, they developed their company based on their shared vision and ambitions.

"We make their ideas a reality by providing technical and aesthetic solutions tailored to the unique environment of a yacht." This includes selecting the ideal wood to withstand constant movement and the most suitable mirror-polished stainless steel to resist erosion from the elements. A bold vision, uncompromising attention to detail, and an innate understanding of design — whether seamlessly integrating custom furniture into an existing hull or creating one-of-a-kind signature pieces, such as a bar meticulously crafted for a Riva yacht.

The business has grown considerably in three years. Today, Millimètres operates a 700 m² atelier for carpentry and furniture-making, recently expanded by 350 m² for specialist finishes like lacquering, gilding, and custom paintwork. "Our clients need to have a single point of contact for all their needs." From the outset, the founders wanted their company to be in harmony with the times, mindful of its environmental and human responsibilities. This philosophy is reflected in the selection of French-grown wood, following the example of the wider yachting sector as it moves increasingly towards more responsible sourcing. Millimètres is constantly striving to create a fulfilling work environment for its teams, where they can pass on their exceptional expertise, particularly to young apprentices.
