Why did you write this book?
I wanted to share my 35 years of experience in the luxury sector, but also the personal trials and joys that shaped me. This book is not a manual but an invitation: I share fifty solutions for "emparadising" life, drawing on lessons from travels, encounters, successes, and personal failures. Each of these solutions contributes to making the world better for future generations.
What connection do you see between transmission, luxury, and real estate?
Transmission is at the heart of everything. In luxury, it passes through savoir-faire; in real estate, through the heritage we entrust to future generations. The economy serves transmission. And every conference, every exchange contributes to keeping it alive. This is beneficial for the customer, for the craftsperson, for the company, but also for the planet and for the legacy we leave behind.
What inspires you about the notion of a "desirable future"?
The notion of a desirable future comes from my conviction that we can act positively. To emparadise life is to choose to see what is beautiful in the world, to cultivate it and pass it on. In luxury, this means combining excellence with a deep sense of responsibility toward our times. Prestige real estate, as BARNES practises it, is part of this same ambition: creating places that endure, that tell a story, and that convey a vision of the world.
