Hugo Besnier has a rare way of inhabiting the world. At just 25, the founder of HARTIS designs furniture that reflects his personality – delicate, radical, sincere. He draws as if whispering, crafting with precision. This autumn, a collection of some 30 pieces will be exclusively unveiled in an exceptional apartment presented by BARNES.

Some paths owe nothing to routes mapped out in advance. Hugo Besnier's path was drawn freehand, caught somewhere between a silent legacy and precocious intuition. Like a natural inclination for beauty and precision inherited from his grandmother, a discreetly refined figure from whom he inherited an attention to detail and the noble obsession with creating the perfect interior. This mindset, accompanied by his experience in the equestrian world, fed into his sensitivity for the dual arts of beauty and craftsmanship.

Founded in 2021, HARTIS holds a bold ambition: to passionately promote exceptional craftsmanship, combining French excellence, local production, and sustainable commitment. Each piece is conceived as an ode to the hand that sculpts, polishes, and shapes — the hands of some forty specialist craftspeople who translate Hugo Besnier's sketches into volumes and materials. The original repertoire of wood and leather is now being enriched with bronze and glass through a new collection unveiled in October.
